Beyond The Eleventh Realm

This piece is based on a chord sequence in a 19 tone subset of 31ed2. I use a zero-eighteen system for noting the root note in each chord. The progression is VII - Z - VII - V - XVII - X - III - XV, which in the scale context is downward intervals of 7-7-7-7-7-7-7-8 and overall intervals (in full 31ed2) of 12-11-12-11-12-11-11-13. The opening section uses some of the acoustic string voices that I used in composition. This gives way to the more electronic section where the arpeggiated notes gradually stray away from the original chords to create a more dissonant tension. This progression uses mostly minor thirds with one neutral third mixed in, and major, minor and middle sixths.
